Sony Cyber-shot TX7 Review

Today we are in one of the hottest looking cameras announced at CES in early January of annual events. It 'came from the Sony booth, and is part of the T-series, the ultra-compact point and shoot cameras. Features of the Cyber-shot T-series is that they are all high-end cameras with a slim body and a sliding cover in front of the Carl Zeiss lens. They also carry a high price and the camera, unfortunately, we are discussing today is no exception. With a price$ 400 and the 2010 release date in February, are obviously talking about the Sony Cyber-shot TX7.

What's in the box

The Cyber-shot TX7 how packed is used in combination with Sony products. The package is very small and printed on the essentials. Surprisingly, the blue version is displayed in all fields, not depending on the color of the inside of the model. The first things you're about to see are the ones that manual application of paper and an announcement of additional accessoriesincluding the party-shot dock. You can then finally the camera that you have read so much to see beyond. The Sony TX7 immediately draws attention to itself for its sleek and sophisticated, more on that later. Sony has been very generous on the cable side of things. You can get an AC cord for recharging, USB cable and a stereo audio cable to connect the dock to a stereo, but it is fair to say HD, the sound can be transmitted via an HDMI cable, this cable is specialare probably not widely used.

An HDMI cable is not present, you must purchase one of these, if you want to connect the camera directly to your TV. Also missing is a DC-cable, the basin should not be used directly from the window as a charger, I was a little 'disappointed. And I must say I was moderately surprised that talk of a bracelet and a Exmor R of the camera were mounted directly from the box. After removal of the two I was ready, including the battery (really a smallBattery, the new generation is not in the previous T-cameras) and SD memory card. Yes, the Sony Cyber-shot TX7 is the first, not only pro duo memory, but also support SD and SDHC.

There was something in the box. A small needle is controlled with the touch screen. I do not think everyone wants to use, but still worth a mention for the fans. A fact that can shine the pen is actually when you are drawing on the characteristics of the camera. And that's all you seethe box. In addition to an HDMI cable and a DC cable, so everything more or less you can ask for it.

Design

The first thing I remember, when one eye is on the TX7 polished aluminum finish. It 'all in brushed aluminum and glossy above the lens, the only two things that pop to the Sony CyberShot and logos. All that perhaps he could distract from the minimalist design is behind the lens cover. And 'interesting to note thatSony has decided to have some of the small bodies that the TX1 and T900 had to change. For one, the Sony logo is now at the center and the CyberShot name was removed from the cover on the lower body. Also gone is the curve of the lens cover to look like the older models on the cover was actually done all the way on the back. With the lid down things are still relatively clean. The target is located on the left side next to the lightning. The stereo-The microphones are positioned slightly to the right.

The move to the back. It 'almost everything to show the periphery of the periphery. There are almost no buttons, since the camera is controlled by the 3.5 "touchscreen. Sony has done a great job getting rid of the wide margin given to the display. On the right have attacked a metal ring where it connects to the belt can . Compared to the previous T-series cameras, the metal ring is very small which is great. Some people prefer the longer and widerBelt system, but because it allows them to keep their thumb on it for stability. Sony has also added a button in addition, a special movie / photo button. You also get the same keys, users have the TX1. The on / off button (you can also switch the device from the lens cover), the shutter button, the Play button to view the photos and last but not least, a zoom rocker.

I have a comment on design: why so much technicalBranding? Sony printed next to the lens a lot of technical terms, some of whom do not understand us. Can HDavchd that one of video formats and will be exactly on the screen reminds you that the camera is the new sensor Exmor R has his record is at the top. Maybe they added the information to help impulsive buyer. The father who bought a new camera because it looked shiny and then comes home and says: "Look love that this camera has an Exmor R and bought aOptical Steady Shot. I think it's really good. "

Yes, well not always judge a book by its cover. Fortunately, the brand is not that nagging feeling, especially when the amount of any other camera on the market. But I applaud the company with a camera without release of branding administered (except for company logo and serial-camera). Perhaps it is simply impossible, because the rights and patents or something.

The overall design of the Sony Cyber-shot TX7 is amazing. It islooks so clean for a digital camera. Believe me, this camera turned my head and people do not recognize it immediately as a digital camera. Which is great, because the point and shoot and SLR products known for their design are not. Consider also the benefits, such as when you take pictures of your first love, until he asked, he actually made or something.

Ease of Use

For this part of the test, I wanted not only my opinion but also that of thefew people around me. But first I must say that I immediately found the pattern in controls, which made it an easy drive for me. On the left side and right you see a lot of symbols, the modes that are active at this time. For example, if you activate the landscape mode, a small icon to the left you will be notified. If you switch to another mode, simply click on the logo you want and select the panorama mode that best suits your needs. The options are:Twilight (6 shots to 1, perfect in low light conditions), 10 fps burst mode (10 frames per second, ideal for fast moving objects), pan (make sweeping, ideal for landscapes) and HDR-mode (2 images different settings, ideal for high-contrast images).

The Sony TX7 perfect this system in all its checks. Click on a timer set the timer, click the menu button to the preferences, etc. For me, I was initially skeptical about the new film dedicated / photo-key. Ithought it would be a waste of space, how can you also change the mode on the touch screen. But when I took photos and movies I was started to reach for the button a lot. And 'only use it a lot easier and faster to any physical button to switch between video and photos.

Sony has done a great job with the TX7 usability of the department. The buttons on the right and left are not only buttons, but they are also indicators of the ways andSettings selected for each recording. The dedicated buttons (shutter release, zoom, video / photo gallery and show) are really the most necessary things and that you always want at your fingertips. Not everything is perfect though. First, the touch screen is good but not great. The iPhone with its touch screen is capacitive, multi-touch strike. Secondly, there is no way to see what settings you used, once the picture was taken. It would be nice if we could just meet the informationButton and you get all the information you have, when the photo was taken.

Well I showed the camera a couple of passers-by, you know, mother, grandmother, aunt, and asked them for their honest opinion. They all said that the camera was very easy to use. The icons are clear and some buttons, the Sony TX7 one of the few cameras that do not intimidate you. Unlike say, the Panasonic Lumix TS1, rumors that Bill Gates once the fear. So it seems that the device is easy to useTech-geeks like me and normal people.

Specifications and Features

The Sony Cyber-shot TX7 comes with the latest technology from Sony. The methods are: the smile mode (camera takes a picture when the subject is smiling), facial recognition, Panoramic, 10fps burst, Twilight and many more. Automatic mode is the mode most users will leave this. In this mode, the camera automatically detects if you try a macro shot, Twilight or other killed. He also knowsif it's on a tripod that is really cool.

Image Quality

Overall, these images can produce are pretty good point and shoot. With its wide-angle lens (25mm) Picture of the landscape have a look around and ask. But I have a touch of softness in the edges have noticed. And because the camera tries to keep the noise down to a little 'lost in the process of sharpness. The colors are realistic, but some users may not like to hear, because in reality they are not as vibrant as some otherSubcompact on the market. But for me I prefer a more realistic feel "Disney" that actually became popular in those days.

The panoramic shots are great, a real plus. Always work, I have 10 so far and all 10 were killed without any problems. Of course, sometimes a small stitch made mistakes, but given the ease of use I can not complain. Twilight is another thing users want to experience. In this mode, the camera takes six shots and the comparison to create the final picture. Theworks because in this way, low-light images much sharper and less noise. HDR mode is the last thing I'm talking about in this review.

Here, the camera tries to take a picture with a lot of back lighting. Imagine a tree with the sun behind the camera appears. In a normal situation of the tree is black with a large yellow spot behind it, is not it? Then in HDR mode, the camera attempts to photograph the tree to another without loss of detail. So instead of a blackTree, you get a brown tree on it with some nice textures. Surprisingly, this mode works very well. I say surprising because this type of stroke was only $ 1500 + my SLR in the past, that is up to date because it is the Sony TX7 be handled with ease.

Completion

Sony has an amazing camera with the release of the Cyber-shot supplied TX7. This is a very compact device that can take anywhere. It looks great from any angle, and many peopleseem to agree, because this camera is a real feast for the eyes. The touchscreen is very responsive (almost like the iPhone, but not enough) and the various modes and options are easy to find. So, the camera is very easy to use. The picture quality is good but not as the SLR. The image can be a bit 'soft, but it makes the TX7 way to maintain a good job and does sound really good pictures in a very short time. Video recording of this cam is excellent. And 'the best I have ever seen and I can not believe that allfrom a device so small.

I recommend the Sony Cybershot TX7 for people who look good small compact camera that will really make good pictures. You will not be disappointed, just do not expect SLR quality.
